FOOD lovers residing around Riffa are enjoying a feast of fabulous fillings now that the Singapore-based franchise Bread Talk has opened its second outlet at the Oasis Mall.
With smells of freshly-baked bread and pastries wafting across the mall, the outlet has been welcoming queues of devotees of the company's signature product 'floss' as well as its newly-created 'Amwaj Shell', an item available only in Bahrain.
COO of Bread Talk's master franchisee, Pan Arabian Gourmet, Vinod Kumar, said: "Bread Talk is a futuristic concept offering products that are totally different and unique as compared to those you get elsewhere.
"We also have generic items as well because we are, in fact, a bakery."
One of the most fascinating features is its open kitchen where customers and shoppers can watch the bakers at work preparing the perfect bites.
Louel Aguila, pastry chef, said: "People often come looking into the kitchen, especially children who are always curious to know what we are doing.
"We have also had people coming up to us and asking about our ingredients."
The 186sq/m outlet runs under with the support of five bakers and one pastry maker alongside four other staff preparing between 500 to 750 bread items and 25 to 30 cakes a day.
The company is also opening a special kitchen in Arad to allow customers to place orders for custom-made cakes.
Mr Kumar said: "We are opening this central kitchen facility for the convenience of our customers who wish to make special orders."
Bahrain also became the first country in its global enterprise spanning 14 countries to introduce home delivery services.
For the festive season, the store will have special promotions on its cake range offering a 20 per cent discount.
Pan Arabian's retail arm Gulf Gourmet Group covers the Middle East and North Africa region. Plans are on-going to expand to eight stores by the end of 2010 within the region.
Immediate plans include a store at the Bahrain City Centre mall in three months time as well as entering into Saudi Arabia by the middle of next year.
