Diyar Al Muharraq, a master-planned city in Bahrain, received MBA students from The Richmond American International University, as part of a programme to visit GCC countries.

Experts from the development company provided a brief to the students and visited the site for a close view of the work of reclamation and infrastructure.

Students from technical, development, marketing, and business management literary and scientific majors, headed by Dr Candace Deans, IT professor at the University of Richmond, Claire Luck, senior surveyor, and James Butler, from real estate consultancy DTZ.

A Diyar Al Muharraq executive said: "We are strongly committed to the vision of creating a city for all strata of society and a vibrant well-organised community. The project will combine aspects of Bahraini culture and traditions with the requirements of design and modern life.

"For the first time in Bahrain, we will have a community that both residents and visitors alike can enjoy, and become an attractive landmark for tourists and those who are interested in this field."

With 30,000 properties planned housing for over 120,000 people, Diyar Al Muharraq will offer 40 kilometres of waterfront. This will include walkways, sea-facing parks, sandy beaches and a marina with an extensive waterfront promenade, making it one of the kingdom's most sought after destinations.
