Dear Stan, Thanks to His Majesty's efforts Bahrain has once again showcased its talents to the international community.

Not only is the Bahrain International Air Show a unique event for the worldwide aerospace community, it also highlights the kingdom as a serious global player for hosting major events and exhibitions.

Events and exhibitions not only act as a catalyst for business growth, but also strengthen the growing local tourism and hospitality sectors.

While Bahrain is recognised as a financial hub, this and future events will continue to draw new visitors to our shores, and ensure the youth of this nation have viable alternative career paths in an industry with a prosperous future.

Dear Stan,

I normally despair waiting in the queue of cars crossing the Sitra causeway from Isa Town but in recent days it has been a delight watching the beautiful birds that have made camp in the water.

The majestic cranes or flamingoes (perhaps a bird expert could identify them) are absolutely fascinating - I just wish there was a convenient spot to pull off the road, enjoy a cup of tea and a cake and watch the wildlife.

I'm sure such a facility would prove popular for motorists and ease the tension of the surrounding road works. It wouldn't be just the birds that flocked there!

Donald Evans,

Saar.

Dear Stan,

Thank you very much for relentlessly bringing into our drawing rooms a sojourn into the culinary delights around Bahrain. We have been eagerly following your reporter Shilpa Chandran's insights into the same.

I would also like to inform you that Caesar's at Adliya has recently revamped its menu with delicious Thai additions. For a vegetarian like myself, it's truly a boon.

The tom-yum soup with its tangy lemon grass was even relished by my little daughter - a must for these cold windy evenings.

We adults indulged in the honey banana fried dumplings with vanilla ice-cream, sans guilt.

Also though Peppers has always (for around four years now) stuck to its menu without any change, the staff from Kolkata and Nepal are courteous and diligent. This keeps making us go back there.

Naina Devadas,

by email.
