SCHOOLBOY Raoul D'Souza may be a classically trained violinist but he's planning to blast out some rock'n'roll tonight live on Bahrain TV's Channel 55.

The music-loving 11-year-old is the latest Talent Trail 2010 contestant hoping to impress a panel of judges, viewers and readers.

Raoul, a St Christopher's School Year 6 pupil, picked up the 'most promising' performer in a Gulf-wide contest for musicians last year but he is going to let his vocals shine this evening,

"He loves opera, jazz and sings and listens to all types of music," explained his mum, Savita, a piano teacher from Budaiya, who comes from a family of performers. She was once the eldest member of a band of brothers and sisters called Sugar & Spice who were in huge demand in Bombay for weddings and parties.

Raoul, whose dad Reggie is general manager of Gulf Pharmacy, will be singing 'Rock' n' Roll Is Here To Stay' from the hit musical Grease.

GulfWeekly has joined up with the English language TV station of the nation to undercover the kingdom's most promising entertainer.

We will highlight contestants invited to appear on the Talent Trail segment of presenter Krazy Kevin's Music Mania chart show.

Readers and viewers will be able to vote in a special final edition of the programme and the contestant who receives the most cast will walk away with a prize trophy.

A panel of judges will be invited to comment on the recorded performances ... but it will be your email vote that counts.

Catch the show tonight at 8pm. It will be repeated on Friday and Sunday at 9pm too.

Presenter Krazy Kevin said: "I have been amazed at the interest Talent Trail 2010 has generated and there certainly appears to be many performers in the kingdom with the K factor!"

The contest is open to all nationalities and ALL ages, you simply have to be a resident of Bahrain and be a solo act. If you can dance, sing, perform magic or tell a few jokes email krazykevin@hotmail.com for your chance of stardom.
