Two enterprising Bahraini women walked away with trophies and cash awards in appreciation of their innovative work, efforts and attempts to improve their living standards, writes Farishta Saeed.

Ebtisam Khalil Al A'amer and Ghaniya Ali Hussain won their accolades at a ceremony at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre.

The Princess Sabeeka Award for Best Productive Family and Best Family Product were presented by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of His Majesty King Hamad and Supreme Council for Women chairwoman.

Both winners were taking part in the recent 'Made In My House' fair which displayed the work of around 290 families. Items produced are available at the Capital Mall in Seef.

The annual awards aim to encourage families to develop their businesses, as well as increase awareness of their creative work and products. The scheme is organised with the co-operation of the Social Development Ministry.
