CHECK out one of the island's most popular lunch-time destinations - Charcoal Grill - located off the main road in Umm Al Hassam.
Aside from a range of starters, soups, main courses and dishes, the restaurant also offers an array of Indian and Chinese cuisine platters and combos.
Between11.30am and 3pm its executive lunch has became the 'bite to eat' for office-goers in the vicinity at a price of only BD1.700.
Johnson Sebastian, restaurant manager said: "Lunchtime is busy for us. We have both dine-in customers as well as a good response on take-away orders.
"After 7pm, we offer customers the option to buy in bulk, selling items depending on weight."
Managing the kitchen at Charcoal Grill is Chef Mohammed Sharif Alam. He boasts 30 years of culinary experience, 23 of which have been with the restaurant's group in Bahrain. Prior to moving to the island, Chef Mohammed, 50, worked with the well-known Taj Coromandel hotel in Chennai, the capital city of the South Indian state Tamil Nadu.
Chef Mohammed is originally from Jharkhand in India and specialises in tandoori dishes.
Some of the favourite dishes of the restaurant include mutton fry, murgh makhani and jahangari raan (mutton leg).
One of Chef Mohammed's latest additions is a Chinese dish - chicken chengdu.
The outlet has a branch in Bab Al Bahrain. Charcoal Grill is part of fine-dining restaurant Lanterns which also has Wholesale Restaurant under its umbrella.
