The corridors of Seef Mall have been converted into a catwalk ramp allowing young models to step out in the latest fashions available at the complex.
A second weekend edition of the debut 'Fashion Parade' will be held tomorrow and Friday with 40 high-end fashion brands being displayed across the venue from 6pm to 8pm.
It follows a successful event staged last weekend which attracted thousands of visitors and shoppers.
Organiser Angel Cecil, founder and managing partner of Simply-Casting, said: "The show was a lot of hard work and after walking around Seef Mall for hours all the models' feet hurt, but it was also a lot of fun.
"The choreography was probably the hardest part because we had to make sure everyone knew what they were doing and where they were going.
"The show went very smoothly because we had a great team working with us. Considering how big it was, there haven't been any problems so far and all the brands have been incredibly helpful."
Simple-Casting is a Bahrain-based agency founded by Angel and partner Laura Bale. Angel added: "We are looking out for talent in the form of models, DJs, make-up artists and designers and this weekend there will be a casting book where people can leave their details."
The latest local and international trends were highlighted as 40 models, including children and teenagers, paraded around the mall. Five models were also flown in from Abu Dhabi especially for the show.
The labels highlighted included Origem, Monsoon, H&M Guys, Pumpkin Patch, Joz Salon, Hobbs, Kenneth Cole Girls, Tommy Hilfiger guys, Tape A L'oeil Kids, Sadeem Designer, BCBGeneration, H&M Girls, Sun & Sand Guys, H&M Kids, Khulood Khalaf, Karen Millen, Massimo Dutti Girls, Pull & Bear Guys, Sun & Sand Kids and Fustani Designer.
To add a dash of fun to the event, models were seen posing on escalators and walkways, on a special press podium near the customer service desk as well as surprising window shoppers as live 'mannequins'.
The mall's West Extension will again buzz with fashion-related activities this weekend as designers display their collections in special galleries. Visitors can also take advice from personal stylists and fashion photographers.
A second special charity auction will be held after every parade at the Mini Catwalk at Al Hawaj store. Items on auction include dresses from seven different designers, a spa day at Joz Salon & Spa and a watch. Prizes and giveaways include goodie bags from selected clothing, make up, and perfume brands as well as food products.
Hosting the event are well-known entertainers Krazy Kevin and Tony Attalla. Additionally, there will be five DJ stands located throughout the mall.
The mall is also running 'Shop & Win' raffle extravaganza where visitors get a chance to win shopping vouchers worth a total of BD20,000 as well as three Mini Cooper cars. Shoppers receive a coupon for every BD20 they spend on purchases across all retail outlets in the mall, including the food court, cinema and Magic Island, which they can drop in a 'Big Win Box' at the Customer Service Counters at Gate number 4 and Gate number 3 to qualify for the draws.
