We know our Gucci from our Prada

For a teenager, globalisation is one of the best things to happen since the invention of the Internet.

To us, it means that we can get the most exotic music, the finest of clothes and the weirdest of movies.

We know our Gucci from our Prada, we know how to split our television screens and we have just as high hopes of getting accepted at Harvard and Stanford as any teenager in a developed country has.

In a way, you could call us global citizens and we tend to speak the same language. But most of my friends, when asked about their cultural background, maintain that they still have well-rooted family ties and are aware of who they are and where they've come from. They have a strong understanding of their customs.

Bahrainis are no strangers to blogging and use their blogs to spread their message, enhance their freedom of thought and expression, and communicate with the world.

As a blogger myself, I have witnessed how many other teenage bloggers are in the know about their situation and fight against things they deem unfair.
