A NEW BD20.53 million hotel will be opened in the Al Naeem area of Manama by Dubai-based Carlton Hospitality & Hotel Management Group by the end of this year.

The Carlton Emirates Hotel Bahrain, a four-star property, will be part of the group's BD78.22 million planned investment for refurbishment and regional expansion.

Hosni A Hadi, regional director and the group's general manager, said: "The property will have128 sophisticated two bedroom suites and is being positioned as a family hotel.

"I am very optimistic that this will be another great milestone for us. We are working with talented interior designers who have delicately selected the furniture and intrinsic designs.

"The concept of the project is to make visitors feel the warmth of home in the luxurious surroundings of city life in Manama."

The hotel will feature two restaurants, a coffee shop, a health club on the rooftop with a spa, Jacuzzi, gymnasium with two swimming pools as well as a 'kids room' for children's activities.

Mr Hadi said: "We have been in the business for 33 years in Dubai where hotels sprout up like mushrooms and we have never stopped innovating and creating.

"We have done our homework for the Bahrain project and plan to have our fair share of the market as we offer a world class service alongside value for money."

The hotel will also provide a job boost for the economy as 170 members of staff will be recruited, with 30 per cent locals.

Alongside the Bahrain hotel, the Imperial Palace in Amman has been acquired by the group and renamed Carlton Imperial Palace Jordan and its landmark Carlton Tower Hotel Dubai property is currently under extensive refurbishment.

Mr Hadi added: "We believe that the key to success is a continuous process of growth and evolution. Our focus this year is to consolidate our market position and bolster our brand identity, which will now integrate all our Carlton properties under one common banner.

"We are also looking at potential opportunities in Syria, Lebanon and Turkey and in Asia as well."
