Krazy Kevin's World Cup trip

IT all happened so quickly, on Tuesday night my mate Ian Yarwood called to say "Quick! Get your passport, someone can't go!" and by Wednesday night I was sitting on a plane to South Africa not quite believing I was on my way to the 2010 World Cup finals.

After settling into our Johannesburg hotel, we were taken on a night out to sample local delicacies such as ostrich (delicious) and zebra (not bad, either). Great fun, but, the next day was what I couldn't wait for - the 'Big Match' - Ghana vs Uruguay!

Arriving at the magnificent Soccer City Stadium in Soweto was awesome; with the whole of Africa now behind Ghana, I knew the game would be very special.

Over 84,000 people were inside, so the atmosphere was electrifying. Near us, Uruguay supporters were singing and banging on big drums ... then, as the teams came out, the vuvuzelas started like a swarm of angry bees - not letting up till the end of the game, when sadly, Ghana lost on penalties.

On returning to the hotel we found a huge party going on - we hadn't realised the Dutch team was also staying there! Naturally, we joined in their celebration (for winning against Brazil) until 3am!

Next day, after a little sightseeing, we were back on a plane home.

It was so AMAZING to be at the world's number one sporting event ... many thanks to Castrol and Ian for making my dream come true!
