Quiz night a big hit

Well it seems as though the Dilmun Stables has started a trend for fun, with their equine quiz night a roaring success last Friday.

Twin Palms Riding Centre also decided on some pre-holiday light relief and hosted its very own 'Extreme Fun In House Desperate Housewives Show Jumping Competition'.

A VERY light hearted 'affair'! The event started with Honeymoon Paradise - together forever was the caption - and this was a pairs jumping class, followed by 'The Marriage' trials and tribulations, highs and lows, as competitors had to negotiate their way around a jumping obstacle course.

The penultimate class was the '7 Year Itch - Take your Pick' featuring pin-ups of heartthrobs and the super sexy (well for some!) jumps for each. Competitors took their own line and chose their favourite or favourites, or in some cases those that went for the lot!

And then, to finish the 'DIVORCE - Chase the Lawyer over the Courtroom railings!' a high jump or puissance event, with the winner taking the biggest settlement.

This event was simply a huge amount of fun bringing smiles back to all before everyone disappears for the summer - good memories to take away.

The list of winners and pictures (those that are not x-rated anyway!) will be published in this column next week.

* Don't miss the special Dilmun Village Hack at the Dilmun Riding Stables on Friday at 5pm. In an effort to give riders the 'feeling on a hack' within the safety of the glanders-free grounds all the paddocks will be linked up with a coffee shop set up on the course alongside a carrot-selling stall, small jumps and a mini-race track adding to the fun.

Contact Lisa on 17693766 for more details and to book a ride. Only a limited number of places are available.
