A five-day Lifestyle festival featuring food, art and beverages from around the world will be staged at the Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain Hotel & Spa.

From the culinary delights of Italy to the sophisticated cuisine of France and the spicy sensations of India, the hotel plans to display a bounty of the world's finest cuisines and chocolate extravagances from October 27 to October 31.

Mark Neukomm, general manager, said: "We are very excited to present our Lifestyle gourmet festival, an extravaganza of cuisines, art and life.

"Our food and beverage teams in Plums, Primavera, Nirvana and La Mediterranee join forces with venerated guest chefs to bring epicurean tales that will surprise the palate and delight the senses.

"This is a great opportunity to showcase our talented chefs as well as culinary creations from around the world."

The resident culinary team, under the guidance of executive chef David Gache, and the cast of internationally-celebrated chefs such as French Chef Stephane Gaborieau from Michelin-starred Le Pergolese in Paris and Alfred Prasad from the famous Tamarind in London, have created a schedule of daily events. These range from special lunches and dinners in the restaurants to Tchaba tea ceremonies and chocolate demonstrations at The Lobby Lounge.

Multi-awarded-winning Provencal chef Stephane Gaborieau brings his eclectic, sunny style to Plums with signature dishes such as warm Brittany lobster on country bread 'tartine' with baby vegetables and tapenade jus; and grilled beef tenderloin with potato and cepes mushroom, and Szechuan pepper sauce.

He capped an award-wining career in 2004 by winning Meilleur Ouvrier de France (Best Chef in France). Chef Stephane studied under the likes of Christian Morisset and Pierre Orsi before winning two Michelin stars for his innovative and Provencal style.

Italian Chef Mario Musoni showcases the very best of Italy at lunch and dinner at Primavera. He is the chef patron of the Michelin-starred Al Pino restaurant in Montescano, Pavia. His latest book is currently receiving great feedback from chefs all over the world.

Nirvana sees Chef Alfred Prasad, one of the youngest and most creative chefs in the culinary world today, joining the team. He turns Indian cuisine on its head while retaining authentic regional flavours and traditional cooking styles.

Gordon Ramsey rated Prasad, executive chef at the Michelin-starred Tamarind in London, as a chef to watch, 'always pushing the boundaries, seeking out new combinations'.

Showcasing culinary master-pieces throughout the entire festival, renowned Swiz Pastry Chef Stephan Iten weaves his magic over everything chocolate at La Mediterranee restaurant.

He will also hold a chocolate promotion and show-piece demonstration at The Lobby Lounge. Chef Iten has a love and passion for creating chocolate and pastries in a contemporary and innovative style. As the Corporate Pastry Chef of Felchlin Chocolate in Switzerland, he is heading the production development for Felchlin's Grand Cru line, Cru Sauvage and the new Cru Hacienda Elvesia.

Throughout the event, Lifestyle's imaginatively designed dining experiences are complimented by the fine selection of master sommelier John Euvrard from France. John joined Paul Bocuse and his team in Collonges au Mont d'Or as a sommelier in 1993, and went on to become his head sommelier in 1998.

In 2007, John received the title Meilleur Ouvrier de France in the sommelier category from President Nicolas Sarkozy. The same year he was elected Sommelier of the Year by Le Chef magazine.

Monica Berg from Norway mixes up a heady brew of original recipes and classic cocktails in a flamboyant style during dinner time at Plumes, Primavera, Nirvana and La Mediterranee. She started her career attending H. Butlers Bartending School, one of Norway's oldest and most respected institutions. She then went on to buy the school in 2005 and has since educated hundreds of new bartenders every year at the school. In 2009 she was asked to be part of the team building ICEBAR OSLO as a new bar concept.

Here she is responsible for all the bars within the venue and developing the menus.

The highlight of the festival is a gala charity dinner in aid of the Regional Institute of Active Learning (RIA), which brings all the chefs together on October 30 at Al Noor Ballroom.

RIA is the hotel's adopted charity of the year and was created in 1999, founded by Dr Emad Al Attar and his wife Christine Gordon. Located in Adliya, it caters to the educational needs of children with autism, learning and communication difficulties.

The hotel continuously supports the institute throughout the year with different 'Community Footprints' initiatives, such as the Ritz-Carlton social and environmental responsibility programme.
