Touted as the region's most awaited runway action, the recent Splash Fashion Show saw more than 3,000 fashion enthusiasts become part of the changing face of fashion.

Forty international models donned the season's hottest trends from the new autumn/winter collection at the Madinat Arena, Madinat Jumeirah.

The Splash Fashion Revolution this season is all about waging a war against 'monotony fashion', the designers say, with military grey and victory red as the dominant colours. The collection is ultra-glam, bringing back old-world charm contrasted by elements of modern military cool and country club ski.

Raza Beig, CEO of Splash, said: "For years Splash has been revolutionising the fashion scene in the Middle East by introducing innovative concepts and campaigns each year."

The 'Military/Biker' collection is less about contemporary influences and more about looking back at historical designs and traditional military garb from different eras.

Key pieces from this collection such as aviator jackets and military inspired coats contrasted with layered lace skirts, georgette dresses contrasted with sturdy tweed blazers and coats with fur detailing contrasted with biker jackets, give the line an edgy yet feminine look.

Flannel, double-faced wool, lightweight canvas, insignia and skin prints are the key details and fabrics for the collection while the colour palette is predominantly khaki, accentuated with a flash of cardinal red.

The 'Country Club Ski' collection features several diverse looks ranging from equestrian to the 1960s preppy schoolgirl. Retro influences are drawn from the late 50s/early 60s and the 70s, a mood that mirrors a return to timeless dressing.

It's all about mismatched layering and a mix of masculine with feminine. To add a bit of romanticism, team the new awkward-length long skirts with neat belted knits or aviator jackets. Trouser shapes are redefined, with high-waisted, leg-elongating flares being a key item. The sheath dress, the trench, skinny fit-and-flare pea coats with shirt dresses, tailored short and, bow-tied blouses are also key highlights of this collection. Waistcoats and gilets, mini-kilts, neat-fit skinny knits and big cardigan jackets are also some of the season's must-haves styles.

Autumn colours like ochre, rusty orange and brown sync with imperial colors like tan and royal blue adding the extra glam to each of the looks.

Splash stores can be found at Bahrain City Centre and Marina Mall.

In-house designed collections include Ms, Nexus, Retro, ZYNC, Scarlet and Friday-Kinyobi while Splash's international portfolio comprises of international brands like Lee Cooper, Arrow, Bossini, Kappa, Maui & Sons, UMM and among others.
