The recent flurry of equine activity started off with the Dilmun Club Stables holding a three-hour show jumping clinic designed for beginners.

Instructors, Basel Al Dossari and Hussein Al Boosta, led 10 students through the clinic which initially saw everyone concentrating on controling their horses.

The students learned how to walk the course with the instructors, measuring strides, remembering the sequence of fences and working out which parts their particular horse may have trouble with.

Each student then completed the course as many times as necessary to correct any problems with constant help from the instructors. A clinic for advanced students will be held on November 19.

This weekend will be busy as Shakhoora Riding Stables. It is holding an In-House Hunter Show Jumping Show, where there will be individual classes for beginners as well as more experienced riders. For more information contact 17591103.

This weekend also sees the first of several events for Twin Palms Riding Stables, which has announced a Show Jumping Competition - open to ALL!.

The show will be held on Friday morning starting at 9am, all classes will be run strictly to a timetable to reduce unnecessary waiting around.

Visiting horses will not be allowed into Twin Palms Riding Centre itself, there will be a segregated area provided.
