THE Mšvenpick Hotel Bahrain is launching its latest themed event 'Sunday's Churrasco Nights' in January.

Meat will be grilled the Churrasco way as the hotel adds a little samba-style to its fare.

In Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay and the South of Brazil a churrasco refers to any boneless cut of beef sliced thin as a steak and grilled over hot coals or on a very hot skillet.

The hotel's newly-renovated Silk's restaurant will showcase this style of dining with meat on long skewers placed on racks over a fire with fattier items placed on top so that the juices drip down and help flavour the other cuts.

"When the meat is cooked waiters carry the skewers around table to table carving off pieces onto your plate," a spokesman said. "Without moving from your table you can experience unlimited dishes until your stomach fails you and it's time to lumber home. This is truly a great dining experience."

The Churrasco event will feature live music from Colombian band Caramello. Food and drinks cost BD16.900++. Call 17460000 for details.
