Lightspeed Communications says it is set to continue offering unique services in 2011 that are not available through any other operator in Bahrain.

The company is also prepared to take advantage of market developments expected in the near future, in what many in the industry regard as a 'pivotal year' for telecommunications.

It aims to build on a year during which its customers enjoyed reliable wired ADSL broadband connections with speeds as high as 16mbps, unlimited internet packages, free unlimited landline-to-landline calls and free calls to mobiles.

"Our packages are tailor-made to suit a variety of needs in today's market," said Lightspeed's CEO Philippe Baudin. "Using our wireless 'Livebox' modem, families can stay connected all day by creating a WiFi zone within the walls of their home while saving on their home phone bills.

"Gamers can have high-speed ping rates which are not achieved on mobile or Wimax devices, based on results from TRA's latest Broadband Quality of Service Report.

"Movie fanatics are able to stream HD content to their PCs and TV sets for many hours daily without extra charges thanks to our unlimited packages. Not forgetting our business users who are assured to get a reliable and secure wired broadband connection of speeds as high as 16mbps."

In addition to ADSL broadband packages Lightspeed Communications also provides an elaborate portfolio of corporate services to the large enterprise market offering local data services such as leased lines, AVPN, MPLS, microwave and dedicated internet connections alongside international data connections over GMPLS through its partnership with Orange Business Services.

Lightspeed Communications is also actively participating in the current developments in the telecommunications market. "Later this year, thanks to the TRA's push for 'Local Loop Unbundling' and number portability, 2011 will be a pivotal year for the telecommunications market in Bahrain," said its VP Regulatory and Public Affairs, Shaikh Abdulla K Al Khalifa.

"We look forward to introducing higher, upload and download broadband speeds in 2011 to capitalise on our partnership with Orange Jordan in offering new innovative solutions."
