Strength is important in football in order to shield the ball when you have it, but also the power to kick the ball.

Lots of exercises will help improve strength but it is important that children use their own body weight.

A press up is a good exercise for upper body strength.

Lie on the floor face down. Point toes so they are in contact with floor and raise your chest using your arms. Lower and raise your chest to the ground without allowing it to touch. This will not only strengthen your biceps and triceps, but your pectorals too. Complete the repetitions indicated by your coach.

Song is very strong and shields the ball very well.
