TOYOTA unleashed the new Lexus supercar - the LFA - in an exhilarating display of power at the the Abu Dhabi Yas Marina Circuit ... and a limited number will be seen on the roads in Bahrain early next year.

The event brought together VIPs, regional distributors and guests from across the Gulf to experience first-hand the vehicle in action as it roared round the track.

The LFA is the first supercar built by Lexus and production is limited to just 500 cars worldwide.

The first model will be delivered in Bahrain in early 2012 by Ebrahim K. Kanoo, the kingdom's distributor of Toyota & Lexus vehicles.

Tanahashi Haruhiko, chief engineer for LFA's development programme, said: "It took a decade of pushing every known automotive boundary to create the ultimate performance-driven Lexus. Perfecting the supercar required matching extraordinary power with legendary comfort."

The state-of-the art supercar has a 4.8 litre V10 sports-tuned engine that produces 560 horsepower, delivering a top speed of over 320km/h and clocks 100km/h in just 3.7 seconds.
