Schoolgirls Manon Cote and Hannah Doughty, both 13, out shopping with family and friends, were shown the techniques by 27-year-old Ace Valino, below, a barista maestro who will be representing Bahrain in a coffee-making contest in July staged in Dubai to find the top barista in the region.
A barista – from the Italian for ‘bartender’ – is a person, usually a coffee-house employee, who prepares and serves espresso-based drinks.
