IN a purple patch of recent form, Bahrain National Team player Abdulla Al Hakam secured the top spot in June’s TNT Order of Merit competition at the Royal Golf Club.
Al Hakam won with a superb five under par 67, beating Mohamed Al Naoimi into second place by four clear shots. Khalid Al Rowaie shot a one over par 73 to secure third place.
“Abdulla is playing really well at the moment,” said John Wilson, the Royal Golf Club’s golf operations & events manager. “He’s holing putts and not missing fairways, which is essential when competing on the Montgomerie championship course.”
In the men’s net division, Martyn Wright captured first place with a net 67. Paul Quigley narrowly won second place with net 69 just beating Rob Jones on countback after he finished on the same score.
Things were tight in the ladies gross division with youngster Deanna Ngo continuing her impressive run, shooting a gross score of 82, to claim first place. Karin Black came second finishing on 83 while Sam Jones made up the top three with 88.
Deanna’s mother, Valerie Lim, won the ladies net division with a great net 68. Former lady captain Dena Wales was second with net 72 while Karin Lutz secured third place with net 74.
