ROVING Industry and Commerce Minister Dr Hassan Fakhro toured markets and stores to ensure the kingdom was all geared up for Ramadan.
He took in Manama Central Market, Le Marché Supermarket in Sitra, alongside the Ramez and Lulu Hypermarket branches in Riffa, as part of his ‘hands-on’ series of inspections.
During his visit to the market, he was briefed on the sale, purchase and quality of goods available.
Abulhassan Abulkhair said that seasonal fruits and vegetables, especially those that are in high demand during the holy month, were continuously arriving and that prices were stable. The Meat Market’s Nasser Al Hulaiby also confirmed that a sufficient stock of cattle would be arriving for this period too.
Promotions and discounts were the order of the day during his visits to the stores. Juzer T Rupawala, Lulu’s regional director, Bahrain, was able to highlight the stability of prices in general and the ready availability of quality products and goods.
He also unveiled details of promotional campaigns on food and consumer goods which will help reduce the financial pressures on customers during Ramadan.
