Emotions were running high once the microphone was handed to a certain Mr Murray on Centre Court after his epic attempt at answering the prayers of a nation. Although Britain will have to wait another 12 months for the chance of a Men’s Singles Champion at Wimbledon, I think Andy Murray’s fan base expanded exponentially with his courageous and tearful speech congratulating Roger Federer, and giving his heartfelt thanks to all the support he had received from everybody he could manage to mention.
 
May I also add that the introduction of that awesome roof at Centre Court has transformed the whole championships at Wimbledon – mainly allowing for games to continue during the bad weather that is so typical of England during the summer months.

Can I also squeeze in a ‘Very well done, chap!’ to Mark Webber for his awesome win at Silverstone at the weekend and although he is an Aussie, Webber could call the British Grand Prix his home race being as he is one of the few Formula 1 drivers living in the UK.
