A Michelin star chef will be visiting Bahrain next week and delighting diners with French cuisine after meeting up with one of his top cooking colleagues.

Chef Philippe Bardue will present his signature dishes exclusively at the Moevenpick Hotel Bahrain from Sunday to next Wednesday.

Alfred Zuberbuehler, the hotels’s executive chef, is an old friend of Master Chef Philippe and convinced him to visit Bahrain and to showcase his traditional approach to Southern French cuisine.

He is renowned for using the best, most natural products to enhance the flavour of his dishes and will be sharing his secret recipes and cuisine tips.

Chef Philippe, the owner of the celebrated Le lift et Restaurant and La Terrasse du Parc à Orléans in France, says he has been ‘inspired’ by the ingredients found in his mother country, which enables him to create mouth-watering healthy dishes.

Boasting a wealth of experience covering more than 30 years in the best Michelin restaurants in France, the Moevenpick Hotel Bahrain desribes the master chef’s visit as ‘the culinary highlight of the season’.

His visit has been made possible as a result of a partnership between the hotel with Gulf Air and Alba.

During his stay guests will be able to enjoy a five course menu, gastronomique with a choice of three dishes each per course, at BD 35++ per person.
“Reservation is absolutely essential in order to avoid disappointment,” a spokesman said.

There will also be the chance for people to endulge in an exclusive cooking class conducted by Chef Philippe on October 15 and 16 at 11am.

The cooking classes are open for groups of six, French speakers only, at BD16++, including lunch.

During the special French Cuisine event an exhibition will also highlight the work of local artists Fuad Al Binfalah and Ali Al Mahmeed between October 13-23.
Organised by Artlounge, the exhibition will be of contemporary forms in marble, bronze and wood.
