David Isaacs finally held it together for the full 18 holes at Awali Golf Club, showing the rest of the field only dust from his heels as he captured the Taiwan Cup trophy, sponsored by the Taiwan Trade Mission, with 45 Stableford points.

David’s play was not punctuated with his expletive of ‘Oh No!’ as is his norm, and he admitted to playing a little more tactically this time, to ensure he was back on the fairway by using his putter when in a difficult position in the rough. David also captured a three-stroke handicap cut.

In the locker room later, Ahmed Noaimi was in high spirits as he achieved an impressive gross 71, guessing his 41 points could secure the win. But his joy was short-lived as David arrived a few moments later, and so Ahmed had to settle for the runners-up spot and a one-stroke handicap cut.

Also winning prizes were Ziggy Trzebinski (40 points), Chris Gregory (39), Graham Tole (38), Ali Danesh (38), Steve Litherland (37) and Dave Turner (37).
