Gulf Weekly Charity event shifts into gear

Almoayyed Motors donated a gleaming new BD5,800 Ford Fiesta to the American Women’s Association (AWA) fund raiser, Cherry Tree Trot (CTT) for its lucky draw.

Officials from Almoayyed Motors and members from the AWA were present at the handing over ceremony at the Ford showroom in Sitra.

The CTT will take place on November 30 at the Bahrain International Circuit. The racing event started in 1981 and has grown over the years to become AWA’s biggest bi- annual fundraiser. It is open to public and different ages can register.

In 2010 the AWA raised over BD52,000 and attracted 2,000 visitors, almost 1,000 people participated in different races, 2k,3k,5k,8k and a walkathon. All proceeds go to a community service fund, which support more than 35 centres for the disabled and elderly homes.
