Children of the 1990s, prepare to celebrate. Disney is bringing the TV series Boy Meets World back to the small screen.

Boy Meets World is a half-hour comedy that ran as part of ABC’s ‘TGIF’ block for seven seasons from 1993-2000. It centred on the lessons learned by Cory Matthews as he goes through life starting as a young boy.

The Disney Channel is in early stages of development on a new original television series, titled Girl Meets World, which follows the daughter of golden couple Cory and Topanga who got married in the show's seventh and final season.

The network is reportedly in talks with original stars Ben Savage, now 32, and Danielle Fishel, 31, to reprise their roles as the high school sweethearts. No word yet if fellow original stars Rider Strong, Will Friedle and William Daniels will be part of the new project, but casting is already underway.

If Girl Meets World makes it on the air, it would be the latest series resurrected through the children of the characters from the original series. TNT’s hit Dallas is also based on the offspring of the Ewings and CBS is currently developing a Beverly Hills Cop show focused on the son of Axl Foley.
