Popstar Cheryl Cole has recently launched a legal war on The X Factor US bosses after her brutal sacking and is now demanding the salary that she was promised.

The Girls Aloud singer, 29, is suing for £1.3 million following Simon Cowell’s decision to fire her before the end of her two-year contract which she signed in 2011. She now wants to be paid the earnings she has missed out on when she was dumped just one month into the job.

She earned £1.1 million after completing auditions in Los Angeles and Chicago but it is claimed that Cole is owed an additional £1.25 million for a second series as part of a pay-or-play clause, which means that she would be compensated even if they broke her contract while filming the show.

She was allegedly promised for expenses including a £62,500 wardrobe allowance as a one-time payment, a £15,600 stylist budget, £9,300-per-month for accommodation and a £1,562-per-month living allowance.

Cole is also seeking reimbursement for security and travel costs, as well as interest on the money she is allegedly owed and legal costs.

The X Factor US’s finale is split into two parts and will air on OSN First on Thursday and Friday at 8pm, just one day after the US.
