Since I became a mother, I realised just how easy it is to forget about yourself in the process of raising your kids.
Just the other day, I was wondering where the past 10 years went since I had my first child. Was I actually there? How can TEN years pass so quickly? ‘But there was so much I wanted to do,’ I thought. And then the kids happened.
What’s interesting is that every mother I speak to tells me she feels the same way (and maybe some fathers too). You enter the roller-coaster of parenthood and drown in duties, to-do lists, and worry.
The most dangerous part of this is that many parents tend to let their health and weight slip in the process. In the middle of all the chaos, who has time for healthy eating?
And before you know it, you’re looking in the mirror and the person staring back at you is tired, aged, and a lot fatter than you remember.
And what do you do?
You look away from the mirror and go back to your daily routine. Simple.
But if you’re reading this, I challenge you to keep looking at that person in the mirror to find out what happened.
