Royal Golf Club member and Bahraini National Team player Hamad Mubarak took top place in the March competition of the DHL Order of Merit Series at the Royal Golf Club, scoring a level par 72.

Rob Lane and Mohammed Al Noaimi took second and third places respectively in the gent’s gross division with scores of 73.

Youngster Derrek Ngo captured first place in the gent’s nett category with a stunning five under par nett 67. Rashid Misbah and Jeremy Leyland came second and third respectively with one under par nett scores of 71.

In the ladies gross division, Derrek’s sister, Deanna, continued her impressive run of form to take first place after shooting a gross score of 85. Last year’s lady captain Danni Sheppard was second on gross 92 while current lady captain Hanne Hansen came third with 93.

Keeping it in the family, Derrek and Deanna’s mother, Valerie, took top spot in the ladies nett division with a one over par nett 73, while Pauline Jeakings just edged out Kil Ja Yang to take second place after they finished with 76 and 77 nett respectively.

“This was really a Ngo show this month,” joked John Wilson, the Club’s Golf Sales & Events manager. “Congratulations to Valerie, Deanna and Derrek on winning their respective divisions. Hamad achieved a great score too and his fellow Bahrain National Team member, Nasser Yacoob, got a hole-in-one on the 7th hole.”
