Thankful for a lack of distractions

For many teenagers my age, the next few months are perhaps the most stressful that we will ever have to endure. With examinations and subject deadlines all being condensed into the months of May and June, our future is dependent on how we handle the pressure over the coming weeks.

I sometimes question whether it is an advantage or disadvantage having studied abroad. I previously wrote about how I personally felt there was a lack of things to do as a youth in Bahrain; however at this point in the year I am grateful to have fewer distractions from my revision.

On the other hand, I look at all the motivation given to students in the UK who are currently in the same situation. For example, I occasionally listen to the UK radio online and the DJs often refer to upcoming examinations and even have people writing in and complaining about their current revision programme. I relate to these teenagers who are complaining about exams and, as a result, I get a community feeling that I would never experience here.

When looking at it objectively, I find myself thinking that, perhaps, studying back home would have been a less stressful experience. But, then again, with distractions like the radio taking away my focus, who knows where I would have performed better?
