After watching the news every morning, I have found myself particularly interested in the Paris Brown case, which has attracted attention in the UK media.
Paris Brown was Britain’s first youth police commissioner at the young age of 17, yet her rants on the social networking site ‘twitter’ have led to a public outcry and her subsequent resignation.
Perhaps, it is because I am roughly the same age as this girl that I became particularly interested in this case as I feel as though I can relate. Growing up during the age of social networking, I am no stranger to the damaging effects of the internet.
However, there has been a great amount of criticism aimed towards the lady who put this idea into practice. In some cases, people have branded Brown as ‘young and foolish’ as well as questioning why such a position even existed.
Being a youth myself, I can’t help but think that, if implemented effectively, this could be used successfully, benefitting he majority of the country.
Perhaps, if this was an intermediate that communicated the views of the youths of Bahrain, there could be a significant improvement in the attitude of angry young people.
