Karen Millen (KM) is keeping it light and bright this season with bursts of colour and modern, clean cut lines that can take any ‘girl-on-the-go’ from day to night in an instant.
The British multi-national women’s designer brand, founded by Karen Millen, is known all over the world for its quality tailoring, coats and evening wear.
The label’s statement jackets, stylish accessories and perfect-fit dresses have continuously attracted fashionistas to Bahrain City Centre and its new 2013 spring and summer collection will likely do the same.
Peplums, A-line and sheath dresses still remain at the core of the Karen Millen brand, however with sunnier hues complimenting the warm days ahead.
The KM marque makes its classical cuts shimmer and shine with splashes of neon. Mint greens, neon yellows, hot pinks and bright oranges are this year’s fashionable shades, which can be found in geometric prints and stripes throughout the urban attire.
The new line features dresses, jackets and other pieces in a variety of styles from sparkling sequins, geisha boudoir dresses to python print textured silhouettes and accessories.
The designer offers ladies a variety of choice this season with a range of items that can be mixed and matched to create different looks for different times of the day and night. As always, the signature leather biker jacket is the statement piece, but this time with a spring revamp in neon yellow and bold coral.
The geisha boudoir range draws its inspiration from the traditional Japanese silhouettes with feminine and beautiful pieces of rosebud lace, satin, broderie anglaise (white work embroidery) and peplum in blues, greens, Ombré nudes and pale metal tones.
Zips are always a big feature in Karen Millen’s designs and that remains true in this collection.
Other summer trends include cargo, leopard print and, of course, florals. Leopard print has made a huge comeback in the last two seasons and continues its prowl throughout the summer in denim and accessories.
Those who are more into casual wear can look forward to the other hot summer trend, cargos. Ladies also have the option of keeping it comfortable in hand worn boyfriend jeans or glamming it up with crystal encrusted sweatshirts and dresses.
Overall, the colourful new collection, located in Karen Millen’s boutique in Bahrain City Centre, is bound to turn heads and stop traffic. In fact, some of the show-stopping dresses captured the attention of party-goers as well as members of veteran rockers Metallica at the ‘after grand prix’ dinner party in Meisei restaurant in Adliya.
Models dressed-to-the-nines in Karen Millen’s latest designs had all eyes on them during the event.
Karen Millen is one of the stores brought to the kingdom under the multi-trading business umbrella of Remza Investment Group.
Prices for the new season start from BD19.5 for accessories and BD70 for clothing.
