COOL Anastazia Salinas neatly slotted home a penalty to ensure the Venus girls came from behind to secure maximum points in an enthralling encounter against the dynamic Divas.
The third week of the GulfWeekly-sponsored Arsenal Soccer School Bahrain Ladies League saw Venus and Divas battle it out, with Divas taking an early lead through an Anna Hansen penalty.
Venus responded with a long range effort from Fatema Al Dashti and the tight game, which saw numerous chances created at either end, looked destined for a draw until Salinas stepped forward to slot home the winner after a hand ball incident in the box.
Arsenal Yellows secured a convincing 7-1 win over Junior Gunners in a later fixture. Alia Al Haddad, Millie Gallagher and Nada Saeed sent them in at half time three goals up, and although the Juniors created a couple of chances with Kia Hanahoe and Anika Vallejo coming close and a fine save by Rama Selim thwarting Hanahoe again, they finally managed to reply early in the second half through Hayley Kunde only to suffer a backlash from the Yellows. Further goals by Rama Salem, another from Gallagher and Tamara Kawash secured a well-deserved victory.
Arsenal Reds also dominated their game against a young Arsenal London team and walked away with a convincing 8-1 win. Hat-tricks from Lucy Hogg and Reema Alqassab, plus goals by Thuraya Alwaary and Dalal Abdulrahim were more than enough to take the points with Darya Vyshegorodskaya scoring a consolation goal for London.
