Ebrahim Ahmadi has ironed out the hassles of doing the laundry by launching a door-to-door service so customers never have to worry about the mundane chore again.
He started MyDoor Dry Cleaning back in December 2011 in Manama’s Yateem Centre after making a journey of discovery to the US.
He said: “Personally, it was difficult to find the time to pick-up and drop-off my laundry. That’s when the idea came about. I wanted someone to come and do my laundry to save time and prevent those irritating moments when you annoyingly forget to drop off the dirty washing or pick it up.
“After some intensive research, I discovered a company in the US state of Denver doing exactly what I was thinking of.
“I worked there for some time as an employee to learn how to run a laundry-delivery business. I then brought back all the knowledge I gained and customised it to the Bahrain market.
“Our cleaning concept is based on a commitment to offer convenience, save time and provide a quality service.

The concept is simple. Customers place their dirty items in a MyDoor bag on their door step. A uniformed driver arrives to pick the package up twice-a-week.
The clean, freshly-pressed garments are then delivered back to the client’s home in no time. Scheduled pick-up and delivery days are determined by the area that a customer lives in.
Mr Ahmadi explained: “We work on a scheduled route service. For example, if you live in Riffa Views then we will come and pick-up your items on a Monday and drop them off on Thursday.
“You only need to go as far as opening your front door to have clean, pressed clothes.
“Why would you continue to deal with the hassles of driving to the dry cleaner’s and finding a suitable parking space when we come right to your front door? Plus, we guarantee you’ll love what we bring back.”
As well as dry cleaning clothes, MyDoor also cleans comforters, tablecloths, linens, blankets, drapes, area rugs, sorts out clothing alterations, and offers a shoe shine and repair service.
The cost depends on individual items but prices are competitive and, for example, a dry-cleaned abaya is BD2 and a thobe BD1.2.
