The Sheraton Hotel is offering an Iftar buffet featuring traditional and international dishes and a live cooking station at Awali Ballroom from 5pm to 8.30pm. Crowne Plaza Bahrain celebrates Ramadan with an Iftar buffet including a selection of traditional Arabic specialties served daily at The Spices restaurant. The Elite Resort and Spa Al Noor tent offers a selection of hot and cold mezze and grills while Arabic musicians play in the background. The buffet is served from sunset till 8pm at BD6.9++ for adults and there is a 50 per cent discount for children. The Ghabga will start at 8.30pm and run until 2am, priced at BD12.9++ for adults and half price for children between the ages of six to 12 and free for toddlers below five years old. A Summer Kids Camp will be held at the Royal Golf Club. Activities include golf, football, taekwondo, scavenger hunts, swimming and more. Rainbow For Kids, a British nursery in Muharraq, will hold its annual Summer Camp themed around Native American Indians throughout July. The camp is called Tee Pees and Wig Wams and will include daily tribal games, art and craft, sports, working with clay and ‘Pow Wows’, as well as learning a secret language and hunting skills. There will also be weekly Native American cooking sessions, water play and treasure hunts.

Red Bull’s King Of The Rock promotion invites local basketball players to compete in a 1-on-1 game at clubs across the island. The qualifying rounds will take place at the Manama Club on July 13, at the Al Ahli Club on July 14, at the Muharraq Club on July 15 and at Al Hidd Club on July 16, all starting at 10pm. Four participants will be selected from each qualifier held at the clubs and the top 16 players will compete in a final staged at the Arad Fort on July 19 at 10pm.

Capital Club Bahrain, in collaboration with Mona Almoayyed, managing director of YK Almoayyed, ex-chairperson and current patron of the Migrant Workers Protection Society (MWPS), is staging a Ramadan Art Gala on July 25 in Bahrain Financial Harbour. It will feature an art auction, musical performances and a Royal Mixed Grill Ghabga feast. Local philanthropic artist Uzma Dadabai has donated a series of her paintings for the auction along with acclaimed artists Abbas Al Mosawi and Thajba Najeeb. The Bahrain Science Centre is hosting a number of activities and events entitled Play2Learn throughout the month. Professor Mike Bruton will give an illustrated talk on the educational value of toys and games at the centre. The Bahrain International Garden Show, organised by the National Initiative for Agricultural Development, will be staged at the Bahrain International Convention and Exhibition Centre from February 26 until March 1, 2014.

Themed around agricultural technology, the event will showcase the best the sector has to offer in terms of new machinery and tools. Hall 1, dubbed ‘the marketplace’, will include products such as flowers, nurseries, tools, pots, garden furniture, machinery and lighting.
