The British Embassy in Bahrain is hosting a Pink Garden Party to raise funds for cancer research and treatment as well as raising awareness of the disease.
All funds raised from the event staged in the embassy’s lush green gardens in Manama on Wednesday, October 30, between 6.30pm-8.30pm, will be equally split between the Bahrain Cancer Society and Think Pink, the Bahrain breast cancer society.
Tickets, costing BD10, are available from the embassy reception between 10am-11am and CPR numbers will be required. The dress code is PINK!
The British Embassy Pink Garden Party is the brainchild of Claire Wright, the embassy’s corporate services manager, supported by the British ‘first lady’ in the kingdom and GulfWeekly columnist, Bridget Lindsay, and her husband, Iain, British Ambassador to Bahrain.
“Cancer touches the lives of so many people and we were determined to help,” said Claire, who lives in Awwaj. There will be a ‘very special’ Pink charity auction and raffle. Guests will be greeted with pink refreshments on arrival and food will be served.
Only 500 tickets are available and all are likely to be swiftly snapped up. The few remaining tickets will also be sold at the British Club of Bahrain, Dilmun Club and Bahrain Rugby Football Club.
