The Royal Golf Club, now under the management of Troon Golf, has been nominated in two categories in the forthcoming Middle East Golf Awards (MEGAs) – Golf Course of the Year and Best Academy of the Year.
The contest, run by UAE-based Sport 360, in association with the region’s golf bodies and sports councils, aims to recognise the achievements of golf clubs, suppliers and retailers around the region. The categories will be awarded through a system of public and judges panel voting.
“We are honoured to have been nominated to these awards,” said DJ Flanders, the Royal Golf Club’s general manager. “We are up against some stiff competition from the Dubai and Abu Dhabi clubs but with the support and votes of our valued members and guests, I’m sure we will do well.”
Public voting has already begun via the organiser’s website for the first round of the MEGAs. The top five finalists from each category will be announced on October 31 and public voting for the finalists will run from November 12 until December 3. A red-carpet awards ceremony will take place in the UAE on December 11. To cast your vote, visit www.sport360.com/mega
