Let the real battle for the next X Factor US star commence! Fans of the reality TV show will be glued to their screens as the chosen 16 battle for glory.

The show’s four judges each have four acts competing after they secured spots following a gruelling ‘four-chair challenge’ – a dramatic TV tease which had the performers unsure on whether they had made it, in some cases right up until the last moment.

Judges had to cut down their teams of 10 acts. To do so, the mentor watched each act perform and either cut them on the spot, or offered them one of the final slots. The judges could then change their mind at any time, and kick off an act previously selected in order to save another one.

Tomorrow night at 8pm on OSN, viewers will be able to decide whether they agree or not with the judges and predict which next four acts – one from each section – will be axed.

Veteran judge and regular ‘Mr Nasty’ Simon Cowell has the groups, Kelly Rowland has the over 25s, Demi Lovato, the girls, and Paulina Rubio, the boys.

Cowell’s final four groups for the upcoming live shows are newly-formed country trio Restless Road, sweethearts Alex and Sierra, R&B group Roxxy Montana, and new act Sweet Suspense.

Rubio has gone for Carlos Guevara, Carlito Olivero, Tim Olstad and Josh Levi, Demi’s delights are Khaya Cohen, Danielle Geimer, Rion Paige and Ellona Santiago and Kelly’s final four are Jeff Gutt, Rachel Potter, James Kenney and Lillie McCloud.

Not only is it a competition between the hopefuls to stake their claim for the coveted win, but it’s also a showdown among the judges as to whose acts will dominate the competition and make it to the finals. The judges may have their say in how the competition progresses, but it will be up to America to decide who ultimately has the X Factor.

TVWeekly predicts Alex and Sierra and Rion Paige to battle it out for the main prize. This will be the ultimate test to prove they have the vocal ability, charisma and stage presence it takes to become a global superstar or breakout music act and win a recording contract with Syco/Sony Music.
