Gulf Weekly Fakhroo clinches first individual win

Friday’s Studio-RCT Golf Challenge Stableford competition at Awali Golf Club saw a big crowd and some excellent scores.

Abdul Elah Fakhroo was at the top of the podium, returning a winning score of 44 Stableford points. The win was made even more pleasing for him as he has been playing in competitions since 2000 and this was his first individual win after 13 years of trying.

Runner-up, Dave Spittal also carded a great performance, achieving 43 points with a personal best on the AGC course of gross-70. At the end of his round he appeared to exclaim in delight, but, sadly, his impenetrable Scottish accent left his playing partners wondering what he actually said.

In addition, Essa Al Qutami got a hole-in-one, and happily rang the bell.

Post-golf activities saw Studio-RCT’s Roberta Trzebinski describing the company’s programme and presenting a large selection of prizes, including some side-prizes for quirky achievements that allowed a few ‘not-the-usual-suspects’ to appear in the prize-presentation ceremony.

The remaining competition prize-winners were: 3rd: Essa Al Qutami (41), 4th: Janet McAlpine (40), 5th: Saleh Juma (40), 6th: Hamad Fares Al Qutami (40).
