The Bahrain Federation of Expatriate Associations (BFEA), led by its president Betsy Mathieson, is hosting Thank You Bahrain, a fun family day out on December 6 at the National Stadium Car Park in Riffa, from 2pm onwards.

Embassies and consulates will be present again this year for residents to interact with.  Ministries and authorities will also have a stand for guests to visit and discuss issues, concerns and offer suggestions. Universities, schools, churches, clubs, and societies will be allocated a stand highlighting their history, achievements and services.

Entry is free and there will be entertainment. There will be a soft play area and school children will perform songs and dance routines on stage.

There will also be a souq for local entrepreneurs to showcase their handicrafts, produce and accessories. A raffle will be held on the day and revenue raised will be used to fund the launch of a BFEA shelter, a residential sanctuary offering legal, medical and emotional support for expatriates in need.

The British School of Bahrain is celebrating the global citizenship of its student body and ethnic diversity of its school-wide community at its fourth annual International Family Fair. The fair is organised by the Friends of the British School of Bahrain which is made up of a group of volunteering parents. The yearly event raises money for school improvements and donates 10 per cent of its funds to charity. It will be held on December 6 from 10am to 3pm and is open to public and tickets are BD1. There will be an extensive Marketplace featuring a wide selection of fine jewellery, art, handmade crafts as well as other shopping items, live entertainment by students, a Santa’s Grotto, games, rides, plus a raffle draw. A line-up of off-track international entertainment will greet visitors to the World Endurance Championship (WEC) Six hours of Bahrain at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) on November 29 and 30.

The weekend will include indie-rock outfit the Awesome People featuring Mo Zawayed Jr, alternative rockers Alderon, reggae stars the Legendz and popular Filipino cover band Gumz.
