A total of 8,510 donation bags filled with clothing, eyeglasses, books, non-perishable goods have been collected by City Centre Bahrain, as part of its ‘Make a Difference this Ramadan’ campaign.
The goods will be handed over to New Dawn Society, a Bahraini non-profit association that will be responsible for the distribution amongst needy families in the community.
The Make a Difference this Ramadan campaign is a region-wide charitable initiative of Majid Al Futtaim, which developed and manages City Centre Bahrain. It aims to collect daily essentials to support the less fortunate in the community.
Duaij Khalifa Al Rumaihi, senior mall manager, said: “We collected 8,510 bags of donations this year in contrast to 7,700 bags last year. It is overwhelming to see that our supporters for Make a Difference this Ramadan have grown, and the collections have been increasing year after year.
“We would like to express our gratitude to our campaign ambassador, celebrity (Bahraini actress) Haifa Hussain, along with the entire community who have been instrumental to the success of this worthy cause.”
