Alan Vandewater and playing partner Andrew Wyman won first place in the opening match of the new BMMI Monday Madness Night Golf Series at the Royal Golf Club (RGC) with a score of 25 nett Stableford points.
Steve Middleton and Ashley Price were runners-up with a score of 24 and the couple of Tatyana and Heinz Hurter narrowly clinched third place on countback with 22.
Murtuz Zamanly won an additional prize for coming closest to the pin on the 12th hole and Tatyana Hurter was closest on hole 16.
More than 25 golfers competed in the ’Rainbow Challenge’ Betterball Stableford competition, the first of a six-week series. The evening was rounded off with a prize presentation ceremony in the Members’ Lounge.
The night golf series takes place at the RGC every Monday. The 9-hole competitions are open to non-members at a cost of BD20 per night and tee-off with a 6.30pm shotgun start. To register contact the club’s golf events department on email golfevents@theroyalgolfclub.com.
