The Nissan Safety Campaign to educate children and parents on the importance of using safety belts in their vehicles has been launched.
The ‘Buckle up with Nissan’ initiative supported by dealers YK Almoayyed & Sons is being held in partnership with Budaiya Pre-School.
As part of the campaign, every morning once the children arrive, teachers will check if the child has had their seatbelt on and are sitting in their car seats.
Once the child is seen to be buckled up, the pupil will receive a sticker. When nine stickers have been collected the children will be given a gift from Nissan and their parents will also receive a sunshade or key chain. The aim is to encourage parents to practice buckling up everyone in the car on every trip.
School principal Janeann Mohseni said: “So many parents allow their children to ride in the car without wearing their seat belt because they don’t want to upset the child.
“I would like children to learn that sitting in their car seat is essential and something that everyone does on every trip. We are very grateful to Nissan and YK Almoayyed and Sons for their generous support.”
Paul Baker, general manager at YK Almoayyed & Sons, said: “Car safety is of paramount importance for both the driver and passenger as it plays a key role to help reduce injuries and even fatalities.
“If parents practice car safety and teach their children the importance of these measures, these are lessons children will always remember and will themselves practice in the future.”
