The BREEF’s inaugural Show Jumping Championship on Saturday with all new fences on courses looked stunning. Junior One heralded Hussain Mohammed Dadulla as the first winner of the day, riding Murheeb, and just pipping Ali Isa. Al Jazeera Mobiley, Aimee Keen and Rio claimed joint third position.

The Junior Two class saw Twin Palms Riding Centre take over the winning podium. This two-phase class was won by Kate Addison riding The Chief and runner-up was young Luna Dreyer astride Calypso. Addison also took third place on her other mount of the day, West Wind.

In Adult One, 34 riders took to the fray. Muslim Ali took the top position after a fabulous jump-off round on Emiley taking part in her inaugural BREEF competition. Jane Bowden-Clarke astride Tayar took runners-up spot, while Ahmed Al Alawi steered Tayson 2 into third position.

In Adult 2, 30 riders battled it out and a tricky turn to the last fence thwarted many. Ali Isa expertly manoeuvred Coolen round to take the trophy. Tawfiq Al Qattan rode Ted niftily into runners-up position, with Ali A Rasool Ashoor thundering into third on Horse Pride Thunderbolt.

Adult 3 Grand Prix, started quietly but culminated in a nail-biting jump-off, Muslim Ali claimed the fastest time, 35.93sec but an unfortunate knockdown placed him third with Al Jazeear Pascal. Ali Al Taho was clear in 45.57sec to clinch runners-up place and Sami Ghazwan pulled out all the stops with Abdulla clear in 38.70sec to claim the first of his victories this season.
