Batelco is launching its second photographic competition, entitled Bahrain Eye. It features six categories and is open to everyone who is interested in photography.

Photos can be colour or black & white with a minimum resolution of 2,500 pixels and participants may submit up to two photos in each category. Entries can be submitted through the website up until December 11. Winning photos will enter a display gallery that will take place at Seef Mall on December 25, 26 and 2

In celebration of National Day, City Centre Bahrain is exhibiting 10 C-shaped works of art throughout the mall for shoppers to enjoy.

The giant C-shaped canvases, designed by a group of talented artists from across the kingdom as well as from the Bahrain Arts Society, were inspired by the theme ‘A Tribute to the Kingdom’. Each structure represents a part of Bahrain’s rich heritage and culture.  The artists used various mediums to complete the large C’s including fabric, woven palm tree leaves, shells, coloured glass, calligraphy and paint.

The art work will be on display until December 31.

The Crowne Plaza Bahrain’s annual tree-lighting ceremony will take place tomorrow at 6.30pm. There will be activities for kids, Christmas present-giving and seasonal selected beverages for adults.

St Christopher’s Senior School is presenting its version of the classic musical Grease this week. The performances will take place at the St Christopher’s Junior School Saar campus tonight and tomorrow at 7pm, and Friday at 3pm. Tickets are priced at BD6 and all shows are open to the public.

Iconic Guns N’ Roses guitarist from Ron ‘Bumblefoot’ Thal has arrived in Bahrain and fans can catch him playing his unique fretless guitar at various venues in Bahrain this week. Bumblefoot is here to inaugurate Jam Up, a venture established to promote Bahrain-based musicians worldwide. An exclusive first of its kind Guitar Clinic at Room 2 Rock, Adliya, has been arranged tomorrow at 7pm for musicians and music enthusiasts to jam with the star.

Bahrain’s very own guitar virtuoso Ahmed Abdul Aziz, from local band Likwid, and Royden Mascarenhas, from Dubai rockers Point of View, will also be a part of the clinic. The last few tickets are available priced at BD25.

Bumblefoot will also be visiting Virgin Megastore, City Centre Bahrain, this evening at 7pm where he will meet his fans at a ‘meet & greet’ event.

The Chuckle Club Comedy Night is bringing another three shows to the kingdom this week, featuring comedians Stephen Carlin, Ian Smith and Rory O’Hanlon. The first will be at the Rugby Club, Janabiya, tonight, with a show at the British Club, Um al Hassam, tomorrow followed by the InterContinental Regency Bahrain, Manama, on Friday.

Doors are at 7.30pm tonight and tomorrow, and 3pm on Friday. Tickets cost BD15 for the first two shows. Friday will be BD30++ inclusive of brunch at the hotel.
