PEOPLE habituate easily to their surroundings and may not notice that their home décor has become worn and outdated. For a fresh, cost effective way to add style head to Al Rashid Group’s brand new home furnishing store, Home Box, now open in the Oasis Centre, Muharraq and Marina Mall.

Based on comprehensive customer feedback, the concept was developed to challenge and change shoppers’ perceptions that style, sophistication, improvements and additions are not affordable.

The store retails smart, contemporary, fashion-forward home furnishings that can easily convert international trends into everyday living spaces without a huge price tag. The store also provides a two-year warranty on most of the furniture available, plus a hassle-free home-delivery and assembly service.

Vikas Attri, chief operating officer of Al Rashid Group, said: “With the Home Box concept, we are aiming to plug a gap in the market for practical everyday living designs that cater to price-conscious and value-driven customers looking to decorate their homes. Our strategy to source top value products from around the world allows us to pass on incredible benefits to our customers without compromising on quality.”

During my last visit to the Muharraq branch I spotted some unique finds at amazing prices. You can grab an entire bed-set, for example, for less than BD70 or a trendy UK-inspired café table including chairs for only BD19.

Here are a few cost-effective interior decorating tips for GulfWeekly readers:
* Use accents to transform furniture:  Find some bright colours and trendy prints in throw blankets, decorative pillows and area rugs in order to bring a modern look to the home. Why not try something new; affordable options can be rotated each season to bring a fresh new look.

* Light up your life: Accent lighting can prove cost effective and allows the eyes to focus on your favourite ‘home statement’ pieces.

* Bling the bathroom: You can find very inexpensive bath accessories to make your beauty time more interesting. Change your toothbrush holder, soap dispenser, or add matching towels and rug for a perky pick me up in the morning.

* Just add a little paint: Don’t want to have the whole room painted? Why not opt for one wall to add a fresh contrast.

* Plan your shopping: Make sure you have a pattern or palette in mind before buying on a whim.

* Create collages: Bring the outdoors in by gathering a theme of decorative items on your buffet, dining room and sofa tables. Try star fish, shells, pebbles, or coloured sand displayed in glass jars or pine cones and winter foliage arranged in baskets for holiday appeal.
