Salsa fever
Salsa and Latin dancing comes your way this summer during the Mascara Fiesta at The Palace, Adliya.

The hotel, in association with FC Sayaw Dance Unlimited, is presenting the massive dance show to be held on August 3 at 9pm. Professional dancers from  various countries will be presenting the latest dance moves at the event which will also feature a ‘Passionata’ dance show, a raffle and a dinner buffet. The highlight of the evening will be the Mascara Queen Fashion Contest where designers from all over Bahrain are invited to take part. Special prizes will also be presented to the best Mask or Mascara (male and female) as well as the Kings and Queens of Salsa and Tango. Social meeting
The Awali Ladies Hospitality group’s social meeting will be held on June 28 at the Bapco Club. The art of Egyptian folkloric dance will be the main focus of the meeting which will begin at 9.30am. Artist Iman Fouad will be teaching participants some basic dance techniques and those taking part are asked to wear comfortable clothing, preferably long loose skirts. Snacks and beverages are included in this social morning. Group members and their guests are welcome to register for the event, priced at BD1 per person.

Harlem nights
Enigma has come up an exciting event for June 30, Harlem Nights, which will showcase the art of rhythm and blues, hip-hop and everything in between. There will be a ‘crisp walk’ dance competition, freestyle rap invitation, party games, prizes and much more. For more information, call 39539343 or 17297000.

Battle of the Bands
Participants of Battle of the Bands are getting ready for action, this popular annual contest marks its 14th anniversary this year and will be held at the Crowne Plaza’s Conference Centre. The semi finals will be on August 11 and 18 with the grand final on August 25 but the preliminary rounds will begin in the next few weeks. Prizes are awarded for Best overall band, Best solo guitarist, best percussion solo and best solo vocal. Fans are urged to get their tickets early. Doors open at 2.30pm and cameras and handbags will not be permitted into the auditorium. Tickets will be available soon from BMMI outlets and

Have a Ball
