Hummer Academy in Bahrain
Manama: The first Hummer Driving Academy outside the US is to be opened in Bahrain, it was revealed yesterday.

A celebration is set to take place on March 22 at the Bahrain International Circuit, Sakhir, to mark the ground breaking of the Hummer Driving Academy. Senior General Motors (GM) executives from around the world will attend, including GM Global Product Development vice chairman Bob Lutz and Hummer international operations director Steve Garrity.

$1,061 package for F1 race
Manama: The Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) has launched a BD400 ($1,061) package for Formula One fans from abroad.
Deals have been negotiated with 11 apartment buildings around Manama and visitors from other Gulf countries are being offered special four-day travel packages that include accommodation, race tickets and transport.
It comes in response to concern that high accommodation prices are deterring Formula One fans from travelling to Bahrain.

Mercedes plans new limousine
Dubai: Mercedes-Benz engineers are currently developing a new, prestigious luxury limousine with integrated highest protection for VVIPs.
‘The Mercedes-Benz State Limousine will provide a level of roominess worthy of its high-ranking occupants, not to mention outstanding comfort and a fully equipped mobile office,’ said regional sales manager, Mercedes-Benz Guard, Middle East, Mario von Glahn.
The Stuttgart-based manufacturer is the only carmaker that has for over eight decades built impressive Pullman limousines with special protection, primarily for the official engagements of heads of state and monarchs, said an official spokesman.

Kia unveils three new models
Dubai: Kia Motors Corporation has unveiled three exciting vehicles at the 77th Salon de l’Automobiles in Geneva, Switzerland.
One of Europe’s most prestigious motor shows, Geneva is a fitting venue for the world premiere of the all-new Kia ex_ceed cabrio concept, the launch of the production-ready stylish Kia cee’d Sporty Wagon and the first appearance in Europe of the innovative Kia Rio Hybrid, said an official spokesman.
The styling of the ex_cee’d cabrio is the work of new Kia design chief Peter Schreyer and gives a clear indication that Kia could produce a stunning looking cabrio under his guidance.
