Dear Betsy, I need to find a way to convince my husband we need to go to on holiday this year.

Last year we had to stay here as his sister and her family came to visit us from Australia. He travels a lot on business and says he is sick of airports and wants to stay at home and just relax.

I know this will mean sleeping late, flopping out in front of the TV and having me wait on him hand and foot. We don't have any children. I work in a very pressurised medical job and really need to have a break. We can afford it, so that is not an issue. Help me convince him.

MD.

Dear MD,

You are a professional woman who can send emails so I am guessing you can book yourself a holiday, using your own hard-earned cash?

Separate holidays for couples are becoming increasingly popular.

Book yourself a fortnight in the Greek islands and before you go, be thoughtful and leave your husband a nice DVD to keep him entertained in your absence.

I can highly recommend one called 'Shirley Valentine'.

Better book a double room just in case ...

Bon Voyage.

Dear Betsy,

Your page is the first one that my family and I turn to in the GulfWeekly each Wednesday.

Thank you for sharing your advice with us to help us live a healthier and happier life. We always like to follow your "Betsy Says Relax" tips each week and last weekend we did clean out our closets like you suggested and it worked. I felt great afterwards.

Here is my request for your help Betsy.

I read in one of your previous columns about the Blood Type Diet.

I am O blood type and want to get more energy by eating the right things. What foods should I concentrate on and what ones should I not eat?

I don't need to lose weight, and I have no medical problems, I just want to be healthier.

G Wills.

Dear Betsy,

Quick question for you.If the quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog, what happened when the cat sat on the mat?

Alphabetti.

Dear Alphabetti,

Coming down from a pharmacologically-induced high can be difficult and for some of us, it is not recommended.

Facing up to the mundane realities of life can be especially taxing for those who are cerebrally challenged, but this is not something to be ashamed of.

I suggest you try chasing Cerberus and the dragon and if you catch them, you will not only be able to answer your own question, but also solve the riddle as to the meaning of the universe.

Note to readers: Don't try this at home.

If you only do one thing

Check out the Property Arabia and Worldwide Property Show from May 28-31 at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre, but get there early.

A showcase of some of the world's most desirable and exotic investment opportunities, the show was recently held in Abu Dhabi and some 30,000 visitors turned up. Police had to be called to control the angry crowd of potential property magnates, who were refused admission as the exhibition hall was dangerously full.

Authorities then called on the organisers to extend the show by another two days to meet the unprecedented demand from a bargain thirsty public. Be there or be square.

BETSY SAYS RELAX...

Clean every pair of shoes you own. Take them out of the cupboard and arrange yourself comfortably with all the utensils and polishes you need. Amazingly this is a very therapeutic and rewarding activity. Girls, this could take you a bit longer than the boys, so you better get started now.
