Wednesday (May 28) Film – The Dust Factory on Star Movies at 8.30pm

A troubled youth learns a valuable lesson about trust and knowledge in this fantasy drama. Ryan (Ryan Kelley) is a teenager who lacks the ability to speak. When Ryan falls off a bridge, he finds himself transported to a strange fantasy world where he encounters his Grandpa Randolph (Armin Mueller-Stahl) and a pretty girl named Melanie (Hayden Panettiere). Together, Ryan and Melanie learn to help one another with their problems, and they both discover the wisdom they can gain from elders like Grandpa Randolph.

 

THURSDAY (May 29)

Film – Lake Placid on Star Movies at 8.30pm

What’s under the water in that lake deep in the Maine woods? No one is sure what it could be, but a dead and severely mutilated body was found near the shore, and the only clue is a large tooth which appears to be from a prehistoric animal resembling a huge crocodile. Jack Wells (Bill Pullman), the local fish and game warden, is investigating the case when he’s assigned a helper, palaeontologist Kelly Scott (Bridget Fonda).

 

 

FRIDAY (May 30)

Film – Three on Super Movies at 9pm

Starring Billy Zane, Kelly Brook and Juan Pablo Di Pace as the only three survivors of a shipwreck. Arrogant businessman Jack Matson (Zane) wouldn’t normally acknowledge boat hand Manuel (Di Pace) in the real world but with only him to rely on for help on the island he has no choice but to consort with him but tensions run high when Jack’s wife Jennifer and Manuel get far too close for Jack’s comfort.

 

SATURDAY (May 31)

Film – Toys on Star Movies at 8.30pm

 

Leslie Zevo (Robin Williams) is the son of an eccentric toy maker. While Leslie was closest to his father and works as a toymaker himself, his military-trained uncle, General Leland Zevo (Michael Gambon), inherits the toy-making factory and begins making war toys. When the General begins making live weaponry behind Leslie’s back, Leslie, his friends, and his family band together to close the General’s operation.

 

SUNDAY (Jun 1)

Film – Four Rooms on Star Movies at 8.30pm

It’s New Year’s Eve, and new bellboy Ted (Tim Roth) is in for a wild night as the inhabitants of four rooms involve him in some strange goings-on. In one room, a coven of young witches congregate to bring their leader back from the dead. In another, the bellhop becomes a pawn in a couple’s kinky psychological games. A third room is being torn apart by two unruly kids while their parents are out painting the town red. And in a fourth, three men involve Ted in a bet – one that has potentially bloody results.

 

 

MONDAY (Jun 2)

Peter Gibbons (Ron Livingston) is an office drone like many others, and hates his routine life. After the hypnotist who was treating him keels over midway through the session, Peter’s attitude to work is forever changed. Suddenly he becomes disrespectful to his boss, rebellious in his outlook and careless about his work. But instead of firing him, the company believes his eccentric behaviour makes him an ideal manager.

Documentary – Long Way Down on NGA at 7.30pm

Three years after Ewan McGregor and best mate Charley Boorman circumnavigated the globe on their motorcycles, the long-time friends are hitting the road again from the top of Scotland to the bottom tip of Africa.
